When colourful leaves and the first snow start falling, for many outdoor admirers, the most beautiful time of the year arrives. A hike through the autumn forest or a ski tour in the glistening snow will brighten the short days. A prerequisite to thoroughly enjoy these moments is, however, a well-functioning equipment that protects us from wind and weather and, naturally, provides insulation.

With its product range for the coming winter, Jack Wolfskin, above all, strives to fulfil one mission: to allow people to experience and relish the magical joy of being outdoors, regardless of the cold. For more than 40 years, the brand with the paw has designed functional equipment for those particularly challenging weather conditions found in the colder regions of our planet. Offering fully coordinated winter collections from top to toe, Jack Wolfskin provides individual solutions for every application, be it for polar expeditions or commuting by bike.

To master extreme weather conditions, the new Discovery collection was developed in collaboration with polar explorer Eric Larsen. The central focus was to create an integrated system that works both as a whole and as individual pieces- or even just parts of pieces. Jacket EXPDN 3L and pants EXPDN 3L resulting from this collaboration impressed a jury of leading experts at the world‘s largest sporting goods trade fair: The products were awarded a prestigious Ispo Award.

Collaboration with top partners yields top outcomes. Jack Wolfskin further builds on this philosophy for its latest collection. As a result, ExpeDRY down from US-based company Allied Feather, provides warmth in numerous insulation jackets. This RDS certified down filling is not treated with harmful chemicals in order to make it less susceptible to moisture. Instead, gold particles recycled from scrapped electronic devices are added, helping the down filling to dry more quickly and thus maintain its insulating effect. This treatment also simplifies the product´s care and extends its lifespan. As a pioneer in sustainable materials, Jack Wolfskin is proud to be the world‘s first outdoor brand to use the new ExpeDRY down filling.

In regards to synthetic fibre fillings, the Hessian company relies on the innovative and particularly breathable material PrimaLoft® Evolve alongside its proprietary technology Texatherm. Both these fillings are made from 100% recycled polyester and therefore account for the increasing proportion of recycled materials within Jack Wolfskin’s collections. As many as 334 products now contain recycled materials, following an upward trend. Jack Wolfskin also collaborates with other well-known partners such as Pertex® and Polartec®.

A closed-loop economy would be recycling to perfection. Jack Wolfskin is now one step closer to achieving this target by expanding its „Textile to Textile“ recycling system, which was introduced in the summer of 2024. In a complex process, production scraps and discarded garments are recycled into polyester fibre yarn for new textiles. This „Textile to Textile“ yarn is already used in 17 products of the winter collection presented, primarily as the outer material of the highly functional wind and waterproof three-layer fabric Texapore Ecosphere Pro.

Sustainable ski touring

The new jacket Alpspitze Tour 3L, for instance, is made from Texapore Ecosphere Pro. Just like the entire ski touring collection, this weather protection jacket convinces with excellent functionality and high sustainability, which merited another Ispo Award from the expert jury. At Jack Wolfskin, sustainable functionality not only defines the apparel but all types of equipment. As such, the new ski touring backpack Alpspitze Pro 25 bears the Bluesign label.

Hiking made easy

Jack Wolfskin further establishes the trend towards lightweight hiking in the winter collection. Innovative materials and sophisticated manufacturing techniques result in apparel and equipment distinguished by a lightweight feel and maximum functionality. The insulating tops of the Light Hiking collection, for instance, feature the particularly breathable PrimaLoft® Evolve. Outstanding temperature regulation is also a hallmark of Jack Wolfskin‘s hiking shoe. The new Light Hiking shoe Prelight Texashield Low achieves this via its highly water-repellent yet breathable upper material combined with the innovative Crossvent sole featuring integrated ventilation channels.

Space for adventure

Whether on an expedition into the wild or exploring urban spaces, Jack Wolfskin‘s new bags provide plenty of storage for all kinds of travel adventures. The range includes robust, classic Duffles, an especially versatile Wheeler and a lightweight Duffle backpack for short trips. What all of Jack Wolfskin‘s bags and backpacks have in common is a significant emphasis on sustainability. They are completely free from critical PFCs and environmentally harmful PVC. And in the case of the expedition duffles, Jack Wolfskin once again marks a green milestone - with a TPU coating consisting of 30% recycled material, making it unique in the outdoor industry. And 51% of the entire equipment collection is already certified as a „Bluesign Product“.
